Gavril Ivanovich is former Captain of Russia's Rocket Red brigade, but resigned because he felt they were under the control of "Western influences." He considers himself a "true communist" and took up destroying fast food joints and corporate businesses. He was attacked by the actual Rocket Red brigade, but was saved by the makeshift JLI, eventually joining them in their quest to take down Maxwell Lord. He doesn't seem to care that his teammates are all from the West, in fact he thinks it's "damn cool to be in Justice League." Despite being a new member, he's already shown he's a valuable asset to their team during their assault on Checkpoint.
